The description of erstwhile Afghanistan was heart warming and the unintentional comparison that one makes with the Afghanistan of today was heart wrenching.

I know tons of people who could benefit from this book, even those who think self help is a load of bull shit.

The fact that it has true stories about people battling aids and the realization that the world isn’t as rosy as one would imagine it to be, made this book very hard to read. I muster courage to read one short story at a time and then take out time to let the story sink in and when i recover i pick it up again.

Well, since it’s fiction, it cannot be the story of my life but the first half of the book which is based in a residential school reminded a lot of my residential school when i was young.
